The modernization and internationalization goals of Erasmus+ program are shared by S.S.M.L. Carolina Albasio, a young but solid institution that does not only develop professionals in mediation but that also aims at teaching its students to be conscious European citizens. This intention is backed by our study plan that places alongside the teaching of foreign languages disciplines such as History of Political Istitutions and International Relations. Great part of our didactics is deeply integrated with IT technologies: we use an online platform to manage our courses and our teaching resources are available online and digital communication is what we exploit the most.
We wish to make agreements with European Institutions which academic profiles are compatible with ours, and with which there is a conformity in the subjects taught to give the students of the Corso Triennale in Scienze della Mediazione Linguistica (first level) the opportunity not only to practice the languages they are taught, but more generally their professional, relational and intercultural skills bearing in mind the perspective of entering a national and international working environment .
We would like to create a partnership with Institutions that offer courses in English, Spanish, French and German.
All the courses attended by our mobile students and subsequently the resulting grades and credits will be acknowledged. We will arrange a certificate, that will be added to the degree certificate, that will report the details of the didactic path followed by the student. We are moreover arranging our Diploma Supplement.
S.S.M.L. Carolina Albasio’s constant effort is aimed at developing a professional profile that knows how to use its deep knowledge of three different languages, of the mechanisms and techniques of written and oral translation and mediation, and the cultures of those languages; and that also possesses the deep knowledge of the systems in which a mediator as well as an European citizen works in: from business to State, including a deep reflection on the social and anthropological dynamics and political organisms and international relations. We wish to start our projects with our future European partners in the fields of languages, automatic and assisted translation, but also in themes that are akin to our study plan and didactic goals.
The criteria used for the selection of the outbound students will be transparency and coherence. The student will be helped in choosing his didactic path and, upon his return, all the courses will be acknowledged in terms of grades and credits. We will arrange a certificate, that will be added to the degree certificate, that will report the details of the didactic path followed by the student. We are moreover arranging our Diploma Supplement.
S.S.M.L. Carolina Albasio has created a strong bond with its surrounding territory: a strongly industrial area near the most important exhibition centres and connected with its surroundings. Relationships with businesses have always been important for us: representatives of the world of business are frequently invited to tell their work experience in seminars open to students, professors and anyone who is interested.
Moreover, thanks to spin-off projects a growing number of companies are involving professors and sometimes students in researches that aim at the development of projects.
The inclusion of international projects would make the quality of our teaching and, above all, the level of the qualification of our professors and students much higher. The students who will choose to join the Erasmus+ program will be helped in their decision before their departure and their activities abroad will be acknowledged in terms of grades and credits. Carolina Albasio has always chosen so help its students with free tutors for students with special needs and with economic support when it comes to students with disadvantages and difficulties, a policy that will be extended to our mobile students.
